Now that we have our third year under our belt for the Fresh Water
Jamboree festival we are gearing up for a great year. We are getting
lots of support from musicians, from the City of Guelph and
from Water Watchers. The last three years went great and each year
the Fresh Water Jamboree continues to grows and transform. This year
there has been an overwhelming amount of interested from musicians and from the public in Guelph.
The Fresh Water Jamboree is an annual concert which raises awareness
about Fresh Water in Wellington County, Ontario, Canada and the world.
The Fresh Water Jamboree is organized by “Be The Artist” (www.betheartist.ca),
which is a Guelph based organization promoting musicians coupled with
environmental initiatives.
There will be music, water and presentations on Saturday, August 6th,
2011 at Riverside Park Bandshell in Guelph. We expect to have approximately
700 people or more at the event. Food and Refreshments will be available.
There are many local musicians and artistic communities involved in the event.
The Water Watchers organization is involved and will be putting on a presentation
to raise awareness for fresh water in the evening around 7pm.
The water in Canada is at risk. We need to act now before it is too late.
Our water resources are being depleted so fast that the possibility of no water
resources here in Canada could become a reality. There are many countries
that have been getting water from our resources and there are many more companies
and countries who are in need because they don’t have fresh water in their
own country. We need to act locally and think globally.
the bandshell can be accessed at 60 Woodlawn Rd. E or 24 Marilyn Dr.
